Which is the better part of the day that you look foward to? Each sunrise and sunset has a beginning and an end. Some would say sunrise, while others would say sunset. What would the people say that live in a land where time has forgotten to change the clock? Either there is too much daylight, or too much darkness.
For a majority of us, we know that with the sunrise it is a new day on the calendar of time. While some of us dread the new day, others welcome it. It is interesting that when there are days, and days of bad weather; and the sun isn't shining with all its splendor, that we more oft than not, welcome the end of bad weather, and watch the glowing sunrise.
The sunset can be a glorious display of either vibrant, or subdued colors. Constantly changing with every second of passing time. We may welcome the end of the day, or we may not. Some may be glad that their day is over, because this is what a sunset means to them. Others may find themselves just starting their day of work, while their biological clock makes an adjustment to darkness after sunset.
Either way, some people win, while others lose. The person on Death Row who is scheduled to die, doesn't want the calendar of time to change a day. The person who just won a lottery can't wait for the sunrise so he/she can collect their fortune. For some that are ill or unhappy with their situation, the time between sunrise and sunset seems so long for them. They just want the day to be over.
So in thought here, as I move forward through my own life, I find that I take advantage of every minute of time that I have left of my life on this earth. I have always enjoyed the morning sunrise, and evening sunsets. I do find darkness a bit disturbing to me, for as my eyesight falters now without light. The time between sunrise and sunset moves so quickly, that it can be gone before you have a chance to say, "Wait a minute, I need more time."
