First let me thank you for your FR way back when. I don't know what prompted it, but I was happy that you did. I have since lost some of my ignorance about navigating NV and that's what brought me to this.
Here's wishing you a safe, happy, healthy and prosperous year ahead.— cried
Dear Rattler --
I was thrilled today to see that I have finally earned four branches on my vine. It was you who helped to pull me out of the green room -- where I might still be languishing today for all I know -- without the help of kind viners like you. Thanks for the kindness you have shown me. I hope I have done you proud.
I wrote my first article. I was feeling like a slacker for just posting other people's work and not offering anything of my own. It's probably over the top and definitely rambles on, perhaps to no good purpose, but I guess you could say that I'm learning by doing. If you get a chance, let me know what you think.
Thanks for the fr. Happy to have a new friend. Good find on the pill mill seed!
Thanks for your help in getting this beginner started. Am enjoying your comments and posts! Proud to be your friend.
Hey Desert Rattler. Thanks for the FR. I am honored my friend. :)
I usually write much about bringing manufacturing back to the USA--but what about the increasing ethnic discrimination for the jobs that are here:
Discrimination in Virginia workplaces is becoming a huge issue. I think I can fairly state that Americans of non-hispanic descent are not a bilingual people; our schools are not and certainly have not over the past decades produced non-latino citizens who speak English and Spanish. However, in Virginia workplaces bilingual is increasingly becoming a requirement for employment. Newspaper ads list employment for police officers, social workers, insurance reps, teachers, bank reps, receptionist, shop foremen and etc(the list goes on) as "bilingual preferred". Even our tax services are seeking bilingual employees.Last year, I noticed a new customer service representative at my bank had replaced the representative that had been there for many years. When I asked where the former representative was, I was told by the current representative that the bank had decided to make the branch in Aquia, VA a "multicultural" branch, so she had been transferred to the Fredericksburg branch and the other rep had been transferred elsewhere. "Multicultural" here means Spanish speaking.
Americans, Virginians, of nonhispanic descent are facing SERIOUS ethnic DISCRIMINATION in the workplace -- and that discrimination needs to STOP. Employers are discriminating, preferring to fill positions with Spanish speaking individuals. In our nonbilingual country, that preference favors those of latino descent over Americans of nonhispanic descent.
At this point in our society, bilingual is not an equally available or attainable qualification like "proficient with Microsoft word". The vast majority of nonhispanic Americans do not speak Spanish. Immigrants are given tax breaks to transition into our society, into our workforce. Should Virginians be faced with transitioning into their own workforce, forced to learn Spanish just to survive? Where is the huge tax break for that transition and why should nonhispanic Americans be subject to such a monumental transition? At this point, bilingual discrimination is discrimination based on ethnicity. This discrimination is wrong and completely unacceptable in the United States of America. Our government needs to take action to stop this discrimination.
I suppose we could set up quotas whereby an employer must hire a workforce that reflects by percentage the population in his area, but that would be impractical and ethically wrong.
Some will argue that we should start teaching our children Spanish earlier in school so that they are educated to be bilingual, but that solution would require decades to be effective and would not stop discrimination against the vast majority of nonhispanic Americans for half a century or more.
The most reasonable action to stop the ethnic discrimination in the workplace is to declare English the official language of Virginia and to require that businesses do business in English. Independent translator services should be utilized by non-English speaking individuals to communicate within our state . Declaring English the official language of Virginia is not some philosophical argument to be tossed about frivolously by vote-hungry politicians; declaring English the official language of Virginia is mandatory to stop the ethnic discrimination that is rampant in Virginia job markets.
Please take action NOW to stop the ethnic discrimination in Virginia workplaces. Contact the governor today. Also, share this message.
i am kinda new on this network can anyone see me through
Haven't seen many seeds from you as of late. Hope everything is OK.
The State of AZ wants to figure out how to "cut" expenditures, I figure they should capital punish all those serving "life without parole" Let me give you some "ideas" on how to do it, " a tall tree and a short rope" otherwise known as hanging. The "hot seat" otherwise known as the electric chair, Let them "gag" on lethal gas, that has got to be better than getting shot or stabbed!!! Cheapest way of all would be to let them get "snakebit" by the desert rattler and then just "stand around and watch-em die" My father said buy a "Crucifiction Kit" which consits of four nails and a couple of 2X4's and set to work. Who say's death has to be comfortable for a criminal? If you don't do the crime, ya don't do the time!! Heck, "I forgot" the death-penalty is no longer "politically correct"
Hello Desert Rattler. I just noticed your FR and am glad to accept. I am sure that if we try we will find much to agree upon, though it is sometimes more fun to argue. I'm glad you didn't get mad at me for my rant on your seed about child prostitution in AZ. I look forward to seeing you around more often.
